BBC Future Media’s Market Engagement team approached me to design a corporate identity for their department. The brief was to build a visual aesthetic which would help the department stand out to the external digital suppliers it works with, making it instantly recognisable as a point of contact for those wishing to engage with the BBC in this capacity.
The challenge was to develop themes which could be used across various media – video, corporate documents, presentation and print materials – while staying carefully within the BBC’s stringent brand guidelines.
Following the brand guidelines and using the iconic Gill Sans typeface I started by designing a number of logos for consideration by the department. Working closely with them the chosen idea was developed into a theme which would stretch across all documents and media they produce, including their digital newsletter.
The second part of the project was to produce an eight page A5 brochure and various two page leaflets which could be distributed digitally and printed as takeaways from their meetings with clients. The material was also designed to be applicable to internal contacts, explaining the role of the team and advertising it’s various services to internal stakeholders.
