The UNESCO team approached me to design a range of materials for their November 2015 General Conference on Global Citizenship Education. For this event they asked me to pull together designs for a button pin, a freestanding Kakemono pop-up banner and a leaflet. The theme for the pieces was the prevention of violent extremism and the brief indicated that they should feature a clean, minimalistic style. The leaflets and buttons were distributed throughout the day of the General Conference in Paris. I wanted to make sure they were bright and eye catching, encouraging people to not only pick them up, but also to read and understand them. The use of icons throughout the leaflets serve to break up the text and attract the attention of the diverse, worldwide audience.
